The Coryell Memorial Hospital is now fully operational after an explosion on June 26 that killed two people and injured 14.

According to Carly Latham, the hospital is now fully operational after getting the operating rooms set up on Monday. The urgent care facility and ER were up and running last week.

A separate construction project of a 16-bed medical rehabilitation wing has resumed. It was not affected by the explosion due to being on separate utility systems.

The explosion killed two and injured 14 who were working on a $42 million expansion project. Michael Bruggman, 43, and Filberto Morales, 36, were killed in the explosion.

A majority of the 14 injured were transferred to facilities in Austin and San Antonio.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office conducted their forensic examination on July 1. The initial investigation indicated that it was a construction-related accident resulting in a natural gas explosion.
