A woman and child are dead after being hit by a car early Thursday morning.
Killeen police said it happened on the 5400 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard just after 12:30 a.m.
Police said that 32-year-old Ashley Leonetti and a 2-year-old child were struck by a car that was traveling eastbound lane near Dogwood Blvd. Police said the two were walking along the road.
Leonetti and the 2-year-old child were pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.

According to the GoFundMe, Leonetti leaves behind an older son.
The bodies were sent for an autopsy in Dallas.
