Clifton falls short to Beckville in State Championship game

History was on the line Saturday morning for the Clifton Cubs, as they faced Beckville in the UIL State Baseball Championship game. The Cubs on the quest to win their first ever State title. 

With one runner on, Fisher Pitts singled through the left side to score the first run of the game. They added a second, in the third thanks to Edgar Rodriguez who brought a run home on a single to left. Clifton up 2. 

In the bottom of the fourth, Beckville scored three to take their first lead of the game. However, Clifton fired back to take back the lead in the top of the sixth. A 2-RBI single from Hunter Ringo, made it 4-3. 

Belleville tied it up once again, 4-4, in the bottom of the seventh forcing the game to go to extra innings. 

In the 11th, Beckville scored the winning run. Clifton falling to Beckville in heartbreaking fashion at the State Championship Game.
