Police arrest woman accused of killing 29-year-old woman

A woman was arrested on Friday after police said she was the suspect of a murder in June. 

According to Killeen police, 28-year-old Marcia Burchett was identified as the murder suspect of a 29-year-old woman on June 9. 

On June 9, Killeen police were called to the 2800 block of Phoenix Drive around 2:45 p.m. after receiving a call about a cardiac victim not breathing.

Police found Heather Mae Walker, 29, unresponsive and suffering from multiple wounds. She died at the scene.

An investigation was underway to find the suspect. Burchett was found to be the suspect and was charged with murder. 

She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke, who set her bond at $1 million for the murder and an additional $100,000 for an unrelated injury to a child charge.

She was transported to the Bell County Jail.
