A youth at McLennan County State Juvenile Justice Correctional Facility assaulted a juvenile correctional officer on Monday.
According to the affidavit, youth Derek Jay England struck officer Juan Perez on the chin while he was on duty. Perez was trying to remove a ligature that England tied around his neck. He then clenched his fist and hit Perez.
The hit caused Perez’s bottom front teeth to be loosened.
