Downtown Temple will host The Word, a monthly open mic poetry night, on May 30 at 7 p.m. hosted by J Kowboy Wine Bar.
This is a free event, but drinks will be available to purchase. The event is part of Discover Downtown in Temple to help host a creative atmosphere as the town continues to grow.
Nancy Glover, with Temple’s Convention and Visitors Center, said all voices are welcomed.
“If you have never been to one of our open mic nights, you are in for an experience,” Glover said. “Listen in as all types of poets share original works as well as their favorite passages.”
