WACO, TX (KXXV) -

Waco police have arrested one man after about $77,000 in methamphetamine was discovered inside his car.

On Friday, police said they received information leading them to stop a car traveling on Interstate 35 near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 10 p.m.

A K-9 discovered about 10 bundles weighing 12 pounds wrapped in tape and foil behind the door panels of the car.

Police said they believe the drugs were being transported directly from Mexico to be distributed in the United States.

The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
