No. 23 Baylor men’s tennis (18-7, 1-3 Big 12) ended its Big 12 road schedule with a 4-1 loss to sixth-ranked TCU Thursday evening at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

In doubles action, the Horned Frogs got the early advantage after fifth-ranked Alex Rybakov and Guillermo Nuñez topped No. 9 Johannes Schretter and Will Little at the top of the lineup, 6-1. TCU claimed the doubles point after 54th-ranked Constantin Frantzen and Akos Kotorman suffered a 6-3 defeat to Alastair Gray and Trevor Johnson at the No. 2 spot.

Down 1-0, freshman Roy Smith got the Bears on the board with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory over Eduardo Roldan on court six. Then, TCU took the 2-1 lead after Matias Soto fell 6-3, 6-4 to No. 91 Guillermo Nuñez at the No. 3 spot.

79th-ranked Bjoern Petersen then dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to No. 69 Trevor Johnson on court two, followed by No. 64 Johannes Schretter’s 6-3, 6-4 loss to 19th-ranked Alex Rybakov at the top of the lineup.

Sven Lah led 5-3 in his second set after dropping the first, 6-4, on court four. Will Little was down 6-4, 5-3 on court five before it was abandoned.
