The new superintendent for Temple ISD was made official Thursday.
The board held a special meeting to confirm that Dr. Bobby Ott would be their next superintendent.
They had a traditional signing ceremony and people got the chance to hear from Ott as he thanked a lot of people for the opportunity including, one of his former high school teachers.
After signing the papers, the board gave him and his family gifts just before the crowd covered him in confetti.
Ott said he was honored to see so many people there and humbled by the overwhelming support from the community.
He said he has a lot of plans for the district and can't wait to get to work.
Ott will start in June after current superintendent Dr. Robin Battershell retires.
