Congressman John Carter announced on Wednesday, $33 million in funding for motorpool reconstruction on Fort Hood.

“Forty-three percent of motorpools on Ft. Hood don’t meet the minimum standards for functionality. While the American Soldier is capable of anything, they shouldn’t be forced to work with substandard resources. We expect them to do their job and do it well, and in turn, Congress needs to ensure they have adequate resources to do that. The $33 million is the first piece of a lengthy process to improve functionality of Ft. Hood’s motorpools. I’m pleased to see this investment in Ft. Hood and look forward to advocating to continue this important work in the FY19 funding legislation.”  Congressman Carter said.

Representative Carter and Representative Roger Williams sent a letter to the Assistant Secretary of the Army on March 27th, requesting that a portion of the fiscal year 2018 funding be used to reconstruct the “Old Tankwash” building on Ft. Hood.
