A 19-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after she was shot in the face on Tuesday morning.
Belton police said the shooting happened just before 11 a.m. in the 3200 block of Interstate 14 frontage road.
The woman was conscious and alert when emergency responders arrived, police said. She was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital.
The suspect was not identified but has been detained. The suspect was known to the woman.
