College Station Police said they shut down lanes after a major accident on southbound Highway 6. All lanes were reopened at 1:45 p.m.
As of 1:23 p.m., the outside southbound lane of Highway 6 was reopened.
At 1 p.m., both southbound lanes from Southwest Parkway to Harvey Mitchell Parkway were closed. Traffic was diverted off Southwest Parkway.
Police ask drivers avoid the area if possible.
