The 100 Club Heart of Texas is stepping up to help Texas Department of Public Safety Senior Trooper Thomas Nipper's family.

Trooper Nipper was hit while conducting a traffic stop along I-35 in Temple on Saturday, November 4. He died at the hospital.

The 100 Club Heart of Texas provides financial relief to the families of all law enforcement officers and firefighters in Mclennan County who were injured on the job or who have died in the line of duty. After hearing about the tragic accident, the club is offering assistance to the family for anything they might need. They know instances like this happen unexpectedly, so they want to help.

"You can imagine that it takes two to run a household financially. So when dad leaves or when mom leaves, and potentially may not come home. and they are serving our community, and something awful happens. Then financially it takes away from that income from that household," Sandy Pechacek, Executive Director of the 100 Club Heart of Texas, said.

The 100 Club wants to bridge that gap and help the family pay for whatever they might need. The 100 Club Heart of Texas is assisting the Austin chapter, who is helping the family.
