More than 300 of the 457 students at Whitney High School were not in attendance Wednesday after a shooting threat was found in the boy's bathroom.

Whitney Superintendent Gene Solis said a threat stating "I'm going to shoot up the school on Wednesday" was found scribbled on the wall of the bathroom Monday.

The school took precautions by alerting parents and police resulting in more than 65 percent of the student population to remain at home Wednesday.

A copycat threat was made at Whitney Middle School on Wednesday. Solis said the students have been found and arrested.
