BELTON, TX (KXXV) -

The Belton Independent School District said the fire at the Leon Heights Elementary is being ruled as suspicious.

Belton ISD said classes will resume at Leon Heights Elementary on Monday morning, following the fire officials preliminary investigation of the fire that occurred on Thursday evening.

The Belton Fire Department were called to the school in the 1500 block of North Main Street just before 8:45 Thursday night.

The fire was contained to a small section of the hallway of the school, near the administration office.

Damage was limited to a door, skylight structure, and adjacent ceiling tiles.

Belton Fire Chief Wesley Gilbreath says the school suffered minor damage and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No one was hurt by the fire.
