Baylor women’s tennis freshman Livia Kraus played her way to the top of the singles consolation bracket at the ITA Texas Regional Championship Presented by Oracle, compiling a 4-1 mark over five days at Friedman Tennis Center.

To claim her title, Kraus fought through a lengthy battle with Savannah Durkin from Rice to record the win, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (10-8).

It is the first title of her collegiate career and the second this season for Baylor. Kraus joins senior Theresa Van Zyl, who claimed the H-E-B Invitational singles crown on Oct. 8 in Waco.
