Nearly 500 people packed the Waco Convention Center for the third annual Prosper Waco Summit.

Prosper Waco said the goal of their initiative is to improve education, health and the financial security for people in Waco.

The summit is a networking opportunity for organizations and people throughout the community looking to improve the city.

"The whole idea of collective impact is that there's not a silver bullet to solve a really difficult community problem like poverty. It takes a wide range of efforts running along parallel tracks, working together, addressing a number of issues simultaneously. And that takes a lot of partners, a lot of people at the table contributing to the work," Matthew Polk, executive director of Prosper Waco, said.

At the summit, the group discussed how Waco is progressing and what more needs to be done.
