Vehicle strikes house, driver captured after fleeing

CHILTON, TX (KXXV) -

A man has been caught after crashing a 2001 Ford Expedition into a house before just before 7 a.m. on Monday. 

Chilton Fire Department said the driver ran away from the scene before they arrived. 

The crash happened near FM 434 and Hwy 7. 

The man, 45-year-old Abel Lopez, was later found and taken in by DPS. Lopez was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

No injuries were reported.
