A woman and her son were able to escape a house fire that killed three pets in Robinson on Monday.

Just before 11:55 a.m., the fire department received a call of a structure fire when a passerby noticed it at 201 Lux Ave.

Robinson Fire Department said a woman and her 15-year-old son were inside the house at the time and were able to escape. The fire was in the garage end of the residence.

Officials were able to control the fire at 12:26 p.m.

Two dogs and one cat were killed, Deputy Chief of Robinson Fire Department Mike Puig said.

The family is displaced at this time, but it is unknown if the house is a total loss.
