Hays County Sheriff's Office accepting applications

Sheriff Gary Cutler has announced that the Hays County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications to the Advanced Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Course.

The academy starts on September 28, 2017, and will conclude on November 9, 2017. The academy is designed to give those who had already gone through the Basic Citizens Academy Course more knowledge about Hays County law enforcement operations and current issues.

Applicants must currently live or work in Hays County. Participants attending the academy will have open discussions with presenters. Presentations will include information from the Medical Examiner’s Office, Constable’s Office, Justice of the Peace, and Sheriff’s Office personnel.

Classes will be held at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office located at 1307 Uhland Road, San Marcos from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
