City Manager Ron Olson will present the Fiscal Year 2018 Proposed Budget and Plan of Municipal Services to City Council at a special meeting at 4 p.m. on Aug. 1.
This will be the first public presentation of the proposed plan for the coming fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1. City Council will now deliberate the proposal at a series of budget workshops scheduled in August and September.
City Council has until Sept. 20 to adopt a budget. Budget adoption is scheduled for Sept. 19.
The budget, along with all supporting documents, presentations and notices will be available at killeentexas.gov/budget. Budget workshops will also be filmed and make available on the site.
The public can provide input about the budget at series of public hearings scheduled for Aug. 22, Sept. 5 and 12. They can also submit comments via email to citybudget@killeentexas.gov.
The meeting will be at the Utility Collections Building, 210 West Avenue C.
