The Bryan Police Department said a man is dead after a rollover accident in Bryan.
On July 29 at around 7:17 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Villa, where a blue 2001 Chevrolet truck driven by Scott Everett Johnson was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and jumped the curb and sidewalk on the south side of the roadway.
The truck collided with an oak tree which was about three feet in diameter. The tree was severed at the base and moved about 10 yards.
Johnson was partially ejected and crushed by the car when it landed on top of him. Several citizens rolled the truck back to the upright position.
Johnson was the only one that did not survive the accident.
