Atmos Energy said they will conduct a natural gas flaring in Temple on Aug. 1 at around 8 a.m. located at 11601 Little River Rd near the intersection of East Blackland Road.
Atmos Energy will be performing maintenance on a section of natural gas pipeline in the area as part of normal, routine operations.
People in the area will notice a large, controlled flame and moderate noise for approximately three to four hours.
The Temple fire department, police department, city officials and 911 operators have been advised of the flaring.
