The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that recreational facilities surrounding Whitney Lake will be closed temporarily.
Lofers Bend Day Use Park and parts of the Lofers Bend West Campground will be closed to replace a degraded rip rap on a portion of the upstream slope of Whitney Lake Dap.
The degraded rip rap will be replaced to help protect the shoreline from erosion.
The dam is located 5.5 miles southwest of Whitney and 30 miles north of Waco.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did not say when the recreational facilities will be open again.
