The first-ever Senate Select Committee on Government Reform is meeting Saturday morning at the Capitol to talk about property taxes.
The committee, created by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was set to discuss Senate Bill 1.
This issue has been given the title of SB1, meaning it's been listed as the top priority for the special session.
The proposed bill will provide a lowered rollback rate, automatic elections and it will provide property tax relief by lowering the rollback rate from 8 to 4 percent. It would also establish a Property Tax Administrative Advisory Board.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Paul Bettencourt said he looks forward to hearing a lot of good testimony today.
