One person has died after a one-vehicle crash on Hwy 84 near McGregor on Friday morning.

At 5:40 a.m., a 2007 Ford F-150 drove off the roadway and rolled over into a ditch.

DPS investigators said a 15-year-old boy was partially ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Edgar Martinez.

The two other occupants, 20-year-old Jose Luna-Pantonja and 17-year-old Ruben Martinez, are in stable condition. Ruben is Edgar's brother.

DPS said that the driver, Luna-Pantonja, possibly fell asleep and over-corrected.

The accident is still under investigation.

Edgar's funeral was held July 24 at St. Eugene Catholic Church in McGregor.

He was a sophomore at McGregor High School and was a trumpet player in the high school band.
