Waco firefighters battling house fire

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

According to Waco Fire Department, they received multiple calls around 2:30 p.m. on a 2 alarm fire of a house fire on 26th and Fort Ave. in Waco on Sunday, July 16.

Firefighters said they had a hard time getting to the scene and once they pulled up saw heavy smoke.

A back bedroom and back storage shed were engulfed by flames. 

Fort Ave. was blocked off. 

Two people and two dogs were displaced. One person was asleep when the fire started but was able to get out of the house by the time firefighters arrived.

The Red Cross also responded to the fire. All roads are back open.
