A Rosebud man turned himself into the Falls County jail Friday after police accused him of shooting and paralyzing a dog with a BB gun Sunday.

The arrest warrant and criminal complaint said Aaron Keresztyen, 25, who faces an animal cruelty charge, admitted to shooting the dog because it had wandered into his yard.

Officer Timothy Bonovitch said in the criminal complaint that he responded to the 200 block of South Stallworth Sunday after someone called and said a dog had been shot with a BB gun. Bonovitch said he found a small brown female dog bleeding from its back leg.

The criminal complaint said witnesses told Bonovitch that Keresztyen had done it. After Keresztyen admitted to the crime and signed a confession, Bonovitch said he asked him if the dog had been aggressive. Keresztyen said no.

Bonovitch said in the criminal complaint that he found out from the dog's vet that the BB got lodged between two lumbar in her spine. It paralyzed the dog, and might even take her life.
