The Copperas Cove Police Department said they responded to a call of an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on July 13 at around 7:50 p.m.
Police arrived in 2408 Phyllis Dr. in reference to a gun shot victim. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who had suffered a gun shot to his jaw.
The investigation revealed that Barbara Muniz, the victim's wife, was the perpetrator of the assault. Barabara was arrested and booked into the Copperas Cove County jail where she was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon- family violence.
The victim was identified as Jesus Muniz and was transported to Scott and White Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Barbara Muniz is being held on a $20,000 bond.
