The Waco Police Department responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on Valley Mills in front of Poppa Rollo's Pizza on Wednesday.
The woman who was hit was pronounced dead at 5:55 p.m. She has been identified as 88-year-old Luddie Hubert of Waco.
The accident happened at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say an elderly woman was crossing the road when she was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound. The woman was taken to Hillcrest with a significant head injury, but died.
The southbound lanes on Valley Mills between Sanger and New Road were shut down after the accident.
The preliminary investigation said that a car slowed to let her cross and a truck behind the car went around and didn't see her when she was hit.
