Fire department responded to water rescue on Lake Belton

BELTON LAKE, TX (KXXV) -

Morgan's Point Fire Department said they responded to a report of a sinking boat on July 7 right before midnight on Lake Belton.

Once at the scene, Marine 61 found multiple people in the water with a large debris field.

Marine 61 initiated a rescue of the boaters with assistance from another boat who reported the incident.

With the other boat assistance, three children and four adults were removed from the water safely.

Both boats took the victims to Live Oak Ridge Park where they were camping. 

Morgan's Point Resort Fire Department, Texas Parks & Wildlife - Game Wardens, Ward's Towing all responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

No other injuries were reported.
