The McLennan County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a Central Texas man for aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14, a first-degree felony.

Jamie Perez, 66, is accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in March.

On Thursday, Deputies responded to a call to the West Police Department about a sexual assault of a child. The victim was then taken in for interviews.

According to the arrest warrant, Perez allegedly raped the child while she was watching T.V. at a family member’s house. The arrest warrant said that when Perez came into the room, he locked the door and began forcibly raping her. The incident lasted about 5 minutes.

Perez is in the McLennan County Jail with his bond set at $400,000.
