A Central Texas city is asking for people to vote to help win an important grant for park renovations.

The City of Copperas Cove is in the running for a $20,000 grant through the Meet Me at the Park initiative.

Copperas Cove has eight parks that haven't been updated in a number of years and need to be more ADA compliant.

Copperas Cove City Council has approved a park improvement plan that will take place over the next five years to renovate playgrounds, add walking trails and much more - but the city only has so much money to execute all of the projects.

"Any other monies that we can acquire to add onto to those park improvements would be an absolute benefit and bonus to the park improvement process as a whole," Joe Brown, Recreation Director for the City of Copperas Cove, said.

Voting lasts until April 30th, and you can vote daily.

How to vote:
1. Go to: http://www.nrpa.org/…/part…/initiatives/meet-me-at-the-park/
2. Register your email address(es)
3. Cast your vote(s) for Copperas Cove, Texas
4. Vote daily from all of your registered email accounts
