Police arrested a 24-year-old man Thursday night after they said he pulled out a shotgun and threatened staff at a Harker Heights bar.

Police were called to Wet Willy's on West Veterans Memorial Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The call was in reference to a man creating a disturbance after management at the bar told him to "take a taxi home and not drive," according to Harker Heights Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Steve Miller said.

While officers were on their way, Miller said the man pulled out a shotgun from his car and displayed it in a threatening manner toward the staff.

A patron and bar staff managed to subdue and disarm the man before officers arrived, he said.

Brandon Mykal Stevens was arrested and charged with deadly conduct. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke set his bond at $5,000.

Stevens was being held at the Harker Heights Police Department Friday morning while waiting to be taken to the Bell County Jail.
