The Waco-McLennan County Library is now offering new services for young children and their families.

Thanks to gifts from the Waco Rotary Club and Prosper Waco, the library now has early literacy kits - which can help families with young children learn new skills at home.

The kits are targeted at preschool children (ages 2-4) and cover topics that encourage literacy development at an early age.

Each kit includes books, educational toys and guided activities.

They are available at all four library locations and can be checked out just like books.

Any adult library card holder can check one of the 48 kits at a time for 21 days.
