Waco police are looking for a 15-year-old girl who went missing last Friday.

Police believe Cristiyana Contreras may be with her runaway boyfriend.

"We don't know at this point if the little girl is willingly with the boyfriend or if she's with him at all and maybe out on her own so what we are asking the public to do is that if you know where she is or if you know where he is, please reach out to us to make sure they're both OK,” Waco Police Spokesman Sgt. Patrick Swanton said.

Police said Contreras was fighting with her boyfriend, Matthew Silva, at Waco High School on Friday.

"I think it was more of an argument, there was some shoving or something but that's something that Waco Police are looking into,” Waco ISD Communications Director Bruce Gietzen said.

Police said that it is possible that Silva assaulted her.

Waco ISD police took a report of the incident. When Contreras’ father came to pick her up, she refused to get into the vehicle.

She has not been seen by her family since the incident.

"We don't know if she's in harm’s way right now or in fact if she decided not to go home, but with the circumstances that happened Friday at the school where he allegedly assaulted her and now he is missing as well, or he is run away as well so we are just erring on the side of caution and listing her as a missing person," Swanton said.

Silva, 17, is considered a runaway. Police said they have not determined whether or not Contreras is a runaway.

His mom told News Channel 25, he has run away from home before but not for this long.

The two families of the teens filed reports with police on Sunday.

"We are hoping for a great end result that both kids are found safe and sound and unharmed and that we get them back, and we get them back in school. Of course we are cooperating in any way we can with Waco PD and their investigation,” Gietzen said.

Contreras’ mother, Renata Bartek, who lives near Houston traveled to Waco on Friday to look for her daughter and post pictures of her at her high school and local stores.

"I just want her to come home because I don't want anything happening to her,” Bartek said.

Contreras lives with her father but visits her mother often. At this time, her daughter’s safety is her biggest fear.

“She has been threatened and she is scared so that would be my fear,” Bartek said.

The mother of the Waco High School freshman had concerns about her daughter dating Silva before she went missing.

She plans to continue searching for her daughter until she returns home.

“Cristiyana please come home. We can figure out whatever you need. I just need you to come home and be safe,” Bartek said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500.
