The Navarro County Sheriff’s Office said they were assisting TDJC with a stranded bus on S Hwy 287.
They said the bus was loaded with inmates. The inmates have now been transferred to another bus and are safely out of Navarro County.
The sheriff's office said a vulture struck the bus on the left side of the windshield, shattering it.
There were at least 15 inmates on the bus.
The sheriff’s office provided a perimeter around the location until the inmates were transferred. They said there was never a threat to safety.
