The Baylor Lady Bears bid for a 7th straight Big 12 title came to an end Monday night as they lose to the West Virginia Mountaineers 77-66. The Lady Bears trailed most of the game, and fell behind by as much as 21 points in the game.
Kalani Brown led the Lady Bears with 19 points and 4 rebounds. 4 of 5 starters scored in double digits, but the Lady Bears had no help from their bench. The Baylor bench was held scoreless for the entire game.
West Virginia's Tynice Martin was a dominant force for the Mountaineers. She scored 32 points in the win. West Virginia is 10-1 this season when she scores 20 plus, and 3-0 in Big 12 Tournament title games. Mountaineers are the 2nd 6-seed to win the Big 12 tournament since the 2004 Oklahoma Sooners.
The Baylor Lady Bears get a week off, and will find out where they will play in the NCAA Tournament on March 13th.
