The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights officials are at Baylor University, as part of an investigation into the university's compliance with Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in all education programs.

The OCR scheduled interviews with university faculty and staff, focus group discussions with students and office hours during which students can meet with staff.

According to Baylor University, the visit is a normal step in the process and there is no new information or investigation.

The OCR opened an investigation in October after receiving a complaint from Baylor Title IX Coordinator Patty Crawford. She resigned after she said she was disappointed in her role implementing recommendations from the Pepper Hamilton investigation.
