Students at Texas A&M are mourning the loss of an unlikely friend.
According to a viral post that circulated Imgur, a dead cockroach had been in the stairwell of a building on campus for at least two weeks.
The post says that a professor posted images of the roach to Facebook and showed as students built a shrine to honor the dead roach.
Students placed flowers, pennies, toys, candy, cigarettes, candles, and even a makeshift tombstone that reads "RIP ROSIE ROACH."
A funeral pyre was built for Rosie, who was ultimately cremated on Dec. 17.
