Kick in the New Year with a dinosaur dive

TEXAS (KXXV) -

Texas Park and Wildlife are hosting their first Dinosaur Dive.

The dive will take place Jan. 1 at Dinosaur Valley State Park.

Participants can dress up in their favorite costume, for a costume contest and prizes will be awarded. Make sure to take towels and warm clothes to change after the drive.

The goal of the drive is to raise money for new bicycles racks and more outdoor seating at the park.

The cost to attend the drive is $15.

The schedule of the event is as follows: 

  • 10:00am- First day hikes (beginners and advances hikes)
  • 12:00 pm- Food, activities, and sign up for dive.
  • 12:45pm- Costume contest
  • 1:00pm- Dinosaur dive (with hot chocolate and fire to warm up after)
