The Diocese of Austin has joined forces with the Archdiocese of New Orleans to encourage Catholic giving on Nov. 29.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans created #iGiveCatholic last year and raised $1.3 million. The event was the first online day of giving by Catholics in the history of the United States.

This year, Catholics are asked to support 19 Catholic parishes, 11 Catholic schools and nine independent Catholic organizations by participating in the 24-hour #iGiveCatholic online campaign. The Diocese of Austin’s goal is to raise $1.5 million.

“The #iGiveCatholic campaign is an opportunity to begin the ‘Season of Giving’ in a positive way. Even a gift of $25 makes an impact, please be generous,” said Scott Whitaker, the diocesan director of Stewardship and Development.
