WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A man was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child after an incident in August.

Manuel Delatorre Perez, 44, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a child with a deadly weapon.

Waco police investigated after a Child Protective Service referral from September.

Police say the victim, 16 at the time of the incident, was searching for a job on Aug. 1.

Police say the victim was at a restaurant in South Waco when he came into contact with Perez.

According to Waco PD, Perez offered the victim a ride to drop off applications. The victim and Perez ended up at Perez’s North Waco home. The suspect pulled out a handgun and forced the victim to perform sexual acts.

The child was able to get away and alert someone.

Police say the child and Perez did not know each other prior to the incident.
