Kempner manhunt suspect found in Copperas Cove

The man wanted after a stand-off with Kempner police last week was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Copperas Cove.

Police said they were tipped off that 27-year-old Christopher Bagley would be meeting someone at a trucker parking lot on Avenue B and 17th Street.

Investigators believed Bagley was trying to get money to flee from the state He went into one of the trucks when police arrived around 2:45 pm.

Police said Bagley refused to come out but after two hours he surrendered peacefully.

He is in the Lampasas County Jail on possession of a controlled substance, debit and credit card abuse and has possible charges pending.

The night of Aug. 14, police went to a home in Kempner to serve a felony warrant to Bagley.

He hid in a closet, claimed to have a gun and threatened to shoot himself. He was able to run away into some woods nearby. 

DPS, Copperas Cove Police, Lampasas Sheriff's Department and Kempner Police all assisted in the search.
