A man trying to evade arrest is in Bell County Jail after a high speed chase from police.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Office said a man traveling westbound on FM 439 near Nolanville was speeding and did not stop when the deputy tried to stop the vehicle.

The driver, William Jerome Rogers, fled from the deputy.

At the intersection of FM 439 and Westcliff, Rogers tried to turn and struck a car that was at the stop sign.

Rogers then fled from the deputy on foot.

Rogers was arrested on the 5800 block of Redstone in Killeen.

He is currently being held at Bell County Jail.
