COPPERAS COVE, TX (KXXV) -

It was back to school for Copperas Cove Independent School District students on Monday.

It was still dark outside when staff arrived anxiously awaiting to welcome back students.

The hallways at Clements Parsons Elementary School were filled just before first bell.

Teachers discussed what a fun year there was ahead and It was mostly smiles all around, but not everyone was wanting to be back in the classroom.

One mother said that although two of her children were excited for their first day, her oldest son wasn't very happy to wake up early again.

The mom of three said she looked forward to hearing how her children's first day went when she picks them up in the afternoon.
