The Temple Police Department is now investigating an officer's actions to determine whether or not that policeman used excessive force to arrest a man.

The incident in question started when 34 year-old Larry Wanye Parker led police on a high-speed chase in Temple. The chase started south of where 25th Street and Avenue M meet, and ended in Heidenheimer, Texas.

Officials said the chase ended when Parker wrecked into a ditch.

An officer who has served on the force for more than 10-years assisted in Parker's arrest, but that officer's actions are being investigated to determine whether or not he was too excessive.

The officer remains on active duty while the investigators review his actions.

An official with the Temple P.D. said a thorough investigation into how the officer acted during the arrest is underway. The investigation is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
