Wanted sex offender captured in Houston

HOUSTON, TX (KXXV) -

One of the Texas 10 most wanted sex offender was captured in Houston on Tuesday.

Jerry Adaway, 58, was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.

In 1982, Adaway was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in Harris County. He was also convicted of sexual assault in 2007.

His criminal history includes sex offender registration violation, robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest was not a result of a tip, so no reward will be paid.
