The 15-year-old girl who was killed after she lost control of the ATV she was driving in Hill County Saturday night has been identified.

DPS Troopers said 15-year-old Kayla Marie Anderson of Whitney and another 15-year-old were heading southwest on Country Road 2115 near Hill County Road 2120 just after 8 p.m. Saturday.

Anderson, the driver of the Polaris ATV, lost control in loose gravel and the ATV partially rolled, landing on her.

Anderson was ejected from the ATV and died at the scene. Officials said she was not wearing a helmet or seat belt.

DPS Sgt. D.L. Wilson said the passenger, also from Whitney, was not injured or transported to the hospital.
