A second grader at Hallsburg ISD asked for a different kind of birthday present this year - food.
Brenner Breton asked for all of his birthday party guests to bring food to donate to The Pack of Hope.
The Pack of Hope is a local organization with the mission to erase child hunger in McLennan County by supplying school districts and their eligible students will backpacks filled with nutritious food to prevent hunger from Friday through Sunday while they are not in school.
Brenner donated 83 pounds of food to the organization, or enough to feed a child or half of the school year.
